My name is Alyssa Walker and I offer dog training and behavior modification services throughout the Logan, Utah and the Cache Valley areas. I have my degree from Utah State University in Psychology, where I focused my studies on animal learning and behavior modification. My training methods are reward-based: I discover your dog's motivations and use those to encourage good behavior and to alter inappropriate behavior. I offer private training, group classes, and day training. Discounts are available to pet professionals, volunteers, and foster homes.

It looks like I won't be at the Market this weekend (June 27th) after all, nor will I be there July 4th. However, I don't foresee any absences in the near future after that. In addition to my dog training and homemade dog treats, I will be selling a variety of other pet-related products, hopefully including training tools, training handbooks, recycled dog collars, and dog and cat toys.
Remember that you can buy treats outside of the Market by going here.
A new 6-week Basic Obedience group class is starting June 27th. Click here for information.
I am typically available starting 4:30pm Saturdays and weekdays, except for Wednesday. The best way to reach me is by phone, but you can also e-mail me. For detailed information on my availability, please go here.
A link to a new article on dog behavior, punishment, and dominance theory has been added to the Dominance Theory page.
The articles Do You Really Want a Puppy?" and "Do You Really Want a Puppy for Your Child?" by Alyssa Walker have been added.
Group classes are starting soon, so check out my Services page to get in on the action!
Exciting news! There is a new, more centrally-located, safe, off-leash dog park in Cache County. It is located at the Fairgrounds, on the south end of the horsetracks. You can view a Google map image with directions here. Check it out soon! Thanks to the Logan Dog Owners group for getting this started, helping to maintain the park, and providing the helpful map and directions!
You can find the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) position on the use of dominance theory in training here.
